On September 18, 2023, four candidates from Trondheim, Oslo, Stavanger and Lofoten competed for the title of “Young Chef of the Year 2023” in Stavanger. The competition is aimed at chefs under the age of 25, where the candidates are assessed by an international jury based on their professional knowledge, creativity and execution. This competition is a recruitment arena for the renowned Bocuse d'Or cooking competition, which is described as the world's most difficult cooking competition.

Tomatosharp were proud sponsors of Eli Anne Rosvold Sundset from To Rom og Kjøkken, and Ivar Moe from the Michelin restaurant Fagn in Trondheim. Sundset took gold in the competition, earning the title of Young Chef of the Year 2023 and qualifying for Chef of the Year in 2025.

Tomatosharp's commitment to culinary arts

Our commitment to culinary arts has been something that has been high on our minds since we started. Two years ago, we supplied razor-sharp knives to Andrea Svendsen, who won Young Chef of the Year 2021, and have since sponsored many culinary athletes at various competitions, including Emil Lundemo and Sebastian Heggli at the Norwegian National Culinary Championships in 2022.

Andrea Svensen

“As a chef, you really depend on having sharp knives to get the results you want. I'm super happy that I had my knives sharpened by Tomatosharp when I was going to compete to get the best possible results.”

Andrea Svendsen, Winner of Young Chef of the Year 2021

We believe that a sharp knife is a chef's most important tool, and that the difference in the final result is enormous with a sharp knife compared to a dull one. Through our commitment, we support the next generation of chefs by ensuring that their most important tool is in top condition.
