Tomatosharp Natural Leather Strop

Tomatosharp Natural Leather Strop is a leather strop we developed ourselves for maintaining and fine-polishing the edge. The strop is used as the last step in sharpening to remove the burr and leave a clean, polished, precise edge.

The strop is made by hand from solid beech and natural leather, and stamped with the Tomatosharp logo. The rough side of the leather is made for use with polishing compound, while the smooth side can be used for final stropping. Developed and designed in Trondheim.

For best results we recommend using it with polishing compound, for example green Dialux.

How to use a leather strop:

Start on the rough side of the strop. Draw the knife with the edge trailing away from the leather, without cutting into the surface, with moderate pressure. Hold the same angle as on the edge. Repeat long, even strokes along the whole edge, about 5 times per side. Finish on the smooth side if you like.

Can be used with both polishing compound and diamond spray to refine the edge further.
