How we sharpen
We look after your knives from start to finish, from repairs to sharpening.
- 01 We assess the knife and look at the steel, the geometry and any damage.
- 02 If the knife needs repair, we do that before we sharpen
- 03 We find the right sharpening angle and start on a coarse stone.
- 04 We sharpen the knife on finer stones and finish by polishing on a leather strop.
- 05 We check the sharpness, then wash the knife and wrap it carefully.
What we sharpen
Kitchen knives, Japanese and European. Hunting, outdoor and Sami knives. Single-bevel knives such as yanagiba and deba. Bread knives, scissors, mandolines, axes and Berkel slicer blades. And the knife you inherited and thought was finished.
What we do not sharpen
Porcelain and ceramic knives, weapons, hairdressing scissors and other specialist tools. If you are unsure whether your knife can be sharpened, email verksted@tomatosharp.no before you send it.
When the knife needs more than sharpening
A broken tip, chips in the edge, rust or a blade that has become too thick behind the edge. The prices are in the price list. We look at the knife first. If the repair is not worth it, you hear from us before we start.
