Saisei means rebirth in Japanese. Used knives are restored in our workshop in Trondheim. We designed the IRO handle ourselves. It is cast by hand in Trondheim from collected plastic.

Common questions about Saisei

Is the knife in the photo the one I get?

Yes, for Second Hand and Pre-owned. Each knife is a single piece and photographed on its own. IRO is sold by colour, and the pattern in the handle varies from knife to knife.

What have you done to a used knife?

We have removed rust and chips, polished the blade and put on a new edge. Scratches and patina from the previous owner may remain, and you can see them in the photos.

Is the knife sharpened when it arrives?

Yes, it is sharpened and ready to use.

Can I sell or trade in my knife?

Yes, we buy Japanese steel knives or take them as trade-in. Send us the brand, length and a few photos through the Pre-owned page, or bring the knife to Teknostallen.

When is the next drop?

Every drop gets a date and a time. The newsletter gets the date first.
