Description
This cutting board is made for Tomatosharp by a craft workshop in Kyiv, Ukraine, where traditional craft meets modern precision. Production in the region is difficult at the moment, and every board is made by hand all the same.
Made from solid end grain oak and walnut. The end grain construction keeps the wood fibres upright, which gives a hard-wearing surface that is gentle on the edge and stands up to daily use. The thickness of 3.5 cm and the size of 40 x 30 cm give a stable work surface for everyday cooking and serving.
The board has soft rubber feet that give a good grip and stop it from sliding while you work. To keep the wood looking its best and protect the surface from moisture, treat it regularly with cutting board oil or a neutral wood oil.
Tomatosharp
We put the Tomatosharp name on what we make and do ourselves: sharpening services from the workshop in Trondheim, leather strops and our own equipment. Developed in our own workshop and used by us every day.

Care and maintenance
Scrape off the leftovers, wash the board with warm water and a little washing-up liquid, and dry it straight away.
Stand the board on its edge so both sides dry evenly and it stays flat. Never in the dishwasher: the heat dissolves the glue joints. Do not leave it in water either, or the wood will warp or crack as it dries. Oil a new board once a week for the first month, then once a month, with food-safe mineral oil. Let the oil soak in overnight and wipe off what is left.
